Okay, I’m only like 15 minutes in to the most recent Fringe, but why does Astrid keep translating “deus ex machina” as “the hand of God” and acting like it is some kind of divine action? It means “god from the machine,” and it’s a literary device, it doesn’t mean GOD ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING. Does no one who writes this show use that inaccessible research tool, “wikipedia”? Or go to 9th grade English class?
